Korean Hand Acupuncture
Korean hand acupuncture is a new acupuncture method based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It was developed by the Korean physician Dr. Tae-Woo Yoo since the early 1970s and continuously refined ever since. Korean hand acupuncture has been clinically tested and proven to be an effective and safe method.
This new acupuncture method influences the entire body, as all meridians and acupuncture points of traditional body acupuncture are also represented on the hand. The hands contain numerous nerve points that correspond to the points used in the traditional body acupuncture. Thus, there are also various meridians on the hands. Therefore, unlike foot reflexology and ear acupuncture, this method allows the entire body to be influenced within a meridian system corresponding to the traditional Chinese body acupuncture.
The Procedure and Benefits of Korean Hand Acupuncture
After taking a medical history and conducting an examination, a specific treatment plan is developed. The needles are very small compared to those used for body acupuncture. They are inserted only 1 to 2 mm deep into the skin of the hand, eliminating any risk of injury. A special applicator is used for this purpose, allowing for precise adjustment of the insertion depth. Because only the hands are used, patients can clearly see how the treatment is being performed.
It is possible to treat various conditions simultaneously in a single session.
An important advantage of Korean hand acupuncture is that the treatment effect generally occurs more quickly than with traditional body acupuncture. It is therefore also very suitable for pain management, not only for pain relief but also for promoting the healing process.
There is another advantage of this treatment: only the hands are used for acupuncture, thus eliminating the risk of organ injury.
